Entrepreneurial Well-being
Entrepreneurship can be broadly defined as the establishment of a new venture or what is known as new entry. Entrepreneurs play a seminal role in the economy and naturally contend with a unique set of challenges regardless of enterprise size and scope. As the study of optimal human functioning, flow states, and how individuals can lead more virtuous, meaningful lives, positive psychology has offered a wide range of well-being frameworks. Some revolve around psychological well-being while others revolve around subjective well-being; considered two opposing ends of a spectrum. I will be discussing novel, creative ways that can assist entrepreneurs on their journey that is typically characterized as a roller coaster ride; rife with ups and downs, challenges, and uncertainty.
As part of my PhD research, my goal is to formulate a unique well-being framework tailored to the contemporary entrepreneur. That is precisely what I will be sharing during my keynote speech. Evidence-based, science-backed strategies and theories that can help founders and businesspeople experience the different forms of well-being, as defined by them, and as specific as possible to their unique pain points. Entrepreneurship no longer needs to be a treacherous experience; akin to sailing into the high seas of the business world. Instead, my aim is to cushion the blows of uncertainty, part and parcel of the entrepreneurial journey, and arm entrepreneurs with the necessary tools that can help them navigate what can be a highly impactful, immensely beautiful journey of inner world discovery and outer world impact.
